Scholastic Art Contest

Spent several days working on a concept to go with the phrase, “Read Every Day. Lead a Better Life.” Scholastic Books is judging the entries and will narrow it down to 10 that will be voted on by the public. I learned a ton about working with Illustrator CS5 and mixing my original watercolor with copy. Check out other professional artists’ interpretations of the phrase. The auction just closed for these 12 illustrations but the contest is open to all artists. www.charitybuzz.com

Encinitas Garden Festival

What a great way to kick off spring with a 20 home garden tour put on by the city of Encinitas. There is even a marketplace to browse and food to eat. Here’s a few photos of my garden. My studio / gallery will be open that day. encinitasgardenfestival.org/
